Hypnosis can be defined as a heightened state of awareness, focused attention and concentration. It is a naturally occurring state that everyone has experienced many times over. If you've ever gotten caught up in a movie and gotten emotional, or if you've ever stood in line 'forever' or if you drove past your exit while you were listening to the radio, you've experienced hypnosis. In fact, you've likely experience the very lightest stages of hypnosis every single day.Hypnosis is altering someone’s belief or reality through suggestion. It’s basically a heightened state of mind in which we can bypass the critical factor of the conscious mind and work directly with the subconscious. When used specifically, it is a valuable tool that can empower you to take control of your life.
Is Hypnosis real?
Yes, it’s real. Everyday every one of us experiences a natural trance state. Whether it’s just daydreaming or driving, we experience simple trance states daily.Advances in neuroscience have gone past the question of “Do you believe in Hypnosis” as the state has been scientifically proven. A Hypnotist is a person who knows how to direct someone into trance.

can achieve with hypnosis
How is Hypnosis different from what we’ve seen in movies?
What you’ve seen in movies is all about power, swinging pocket watches, and people falling under control of evil characters. Hypnosis isn’t about an exchange of power, in fact most people are surprised about how natural the process is.
Is Hypnosis safe?
Yes, it’s very safe and again, it’s a natural state that we all experience on a daily basis. It’s a myth that people can get stuck in Hypnosis. This has never happened, and never will happen.
The biggest danger of hypnosis is listening to hypnosis audio products while driving or operating a vehicle or heavy machinery. Hypnosis is safe when practiced by an experienced, professional hypnotist.
Yes, though some people require more work than others. There is no force that can prevent someone from being hypnotized other than themselves. So if a person is resisting the induction process, they won’t go into hypnosis. Everyone has already experienced hypnosis. And Yes, anyone can experience hypnosis in a formal setting if they want to be hypnotized.
Since hypnosis is a natural state, it means you've experienced it before and might not even know you're in it when you are. There’s nothing really magical about the feeling of a trance state, as again it’s something we’re used to.I have personally experienced hypnosis many times, and I have experienced a range of feelings from warmth, to a relaxed heaviness, and peaceful physical stillness. I don’t always have the same feelings every time I experience hypnosis. After an hour of hypnosis, clients often remark that they feel like they’ve just slept for eight hours.
No. This is a common misconception about hypnosis. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will. Hypnosis is not about control by the hypnotist. It is about working together so that the client can be empowered to create change in his or her life. Nobody can be forced to do anything against their will.
The 'control' misconception appears to originate from stage hypnosis which funnily enough also involves people doing exactly what they want to be doing. You cannot be made to do things that would go against your morals and you cannot be made to say things you would not say during a normal conversation. You can’t be made to do or say anything you don’t want to do or say.
While someone in trance looks like they’re asleep, they are in a heightened state of awareness. Their mind is always active, and if they’re given a suggestion they don’t like, they won’t take it. Hypnosis can be more of a laser-like focus of your attention. You will be able to hear sounds and voices and you will be able to recall these afterwards. Hypnosis is more like that peaceful relaxed state where your mind rests just between being awake and falling asleep.

How does Hypnosis work?
Hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind, the busy part of the mind that takes in all the outside information and makes conscious decisions. Hypnosis talks directly to the subconscious mind, the part of the brain that’s in charge of emotions and imagination, habits and fears. The hypnotist can introduce new information and suggestions to a person’s subconscious mind to help them to make changes that were previously blocked by the subconscious mind, keeping a person stuck in a thought or behavior pattern which is not helping them.A good example of the power of the subconscious mind keeping someone stuck in a pattern would be the habit of smoking. Quitting smoking with hypnosis is extremely effective because a person knows intellectually all of the reasons to quit smoking, yet their subconscious mind can keep them stuck in the habit. The subconscious mind operates on the principle of “known” and “unknown”. Known behaviors (like smoking for many years) are considered pleasurable by the subconscious mind, and unknown behaviors (like quitting smoking), are considered painful by the subconscious mind. The same principle can be applied to fears, anxieties, stress, sleep, performance, confidence; literally any experience, behavior or habit that you’d like to change.

Can you help me lose weight? Stop Smoking?
Yes, Hypnosis is a powerful tool that has been proven effective in combating stress and anxieties. Hypnosis helps individuals redirect their thoughts and establish a new way of thinking. People who undergo hypnosis are guided into a relaxed and focused state, which makes them more amenable to suggested changes in behavior and habits.
Most people who really want to make changes in their life and who are willing to take the action to seek out hypnosis as a way to regaining control are more likely to succeed if they are willing to take action after the sessions. Hypnosis isn't magic. If you have clear goals in mind for what you'd like to achieve, and are willing to take action, then hypnosis can be very effective to help you to reach them.
Yes. Children learn self hypnosis easily. Normal children often play imaginary games; this talent can be adapted to help them develop skills in self hypnosis. In fact, children naturally go in and out of hypnotic states as they become absorbed in pretend games, or in reading a story, or playing a video game, or listening to music. The ability to use self hypnosis provides a child with a sense of personal participation in treatment and enhances his/her sense of mastery and competency.
What happens during your Workshops?
Our Workshops start with a quick introduction in which I talk about hypnosis and do some suggestibility demonstrations with the audience. These are simple tests which gets everyone in the audience laughing and interacting. I then invite volunteers to participate in a hypnosis session in front of the group. I don’t embarrass the participants, and I work hard to not even let them embarrass themselves. I then emerge the volunteers from trance, and send them back to their seats.
What else do participants get from attending your Workshops?
In addition to the wonderful experience of being hypnotized, and the new knowledge about how hypnosis can be used to make positive changes in our lives, each person who attends one of our Workshops receives a Free Stress Reduction Hypnosis Audio Recording.
