General Questions

1. What is clinical hypnosis, and how does it work?

Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that uses guided suggestions to help you access your subconscious mind. By working at this deeper level, you can create lasting changes in thought patterns, habits, and emotional responses.

2. Is hypnosis safe?

Yes, hypnosis is completely safe when conducted by a trained professional. You remain in control throughout the process and can end a session at any time if you choose.

3. Will I lose control or be unconscious during hypnosis?

No. Hypnosis is about working together to empower you to create changes in your life. No one can be hypnotized against their will. Hypnosis cannot force you to do anything against your will. You remain aware and in control the entire time, simply in a state where your mind is more open to positive suggestions.

4. Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes! Anyone can be hypnotized if they are open to the process and willing to engage. Hypnosis works best when there is trust and collaboration between you and your hypnotist.

5. What does it feel like to be in hypnosis?

Being in hypnosis feels similar to daydreaming or being deeply absorbed in a book or movie. It is a heightened sense of focus that often comes with a deep relaxation. During a hypnosis session you may experience a relaxed heaviness, a lightness, and a peaceful stillness. After a hypnosis session, clients often say that they feel recharged and energized, like waking up after a restful sleep

About the Sessions

6. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals. For most clients a course of five sessions is perfect to create lasting changes.

7. What happens during a hypnosis session?

Each session begins with a discussion of your goals and progress. I'll help you learn to use hypnotic reframing, tools and strategies to help reinforce your success. You’ll then be guided into a hypnotic state where we work together to address your specific needs using tailored suggestions and hypnotic techniques.

8. Can hypnosis be done online, or does it need to be in person?

Yes! I see all of my clients remotely in a video call. Not only is it just as effective as in-person sessions, there is the added benefit of having your space become a reinforcement of your success.

All you'll need is a safe and comfortable place and a device that can connect to the internet, like a smart phone, tablet, or computer with a camera.

9. What do I need to do to prepare for my sessions?

There is no special preparation needed. Simply come with an open mind and a willingness to engage in the process.

Benefits and Results

10. What kind of issues can hypnosis help with?

Hypnosis can help with stress management, breaking bad habits, overcoming fears, improving confidence, ending emotional eating, pain management, and more. It’s a versatile tool for many challenges.

11. How quickly can I expect to see results?

Most clients notice changes after the very first session, and since each session builds on the one before, the momentum of success continues to grow as we work towards your desired results.

12. Can hypnosis help with medical conditions?

Yes, hypnosis can be an effective approach for managing pain, stress and feelings of anxiety, and other conditions. While hypnosis is not a replacement for traditional medical treatment, it can help your mind and body to work together in more beneficial ways, speeding healing and improving outcomes.

13. Can I use hypnosis with other therapies and treatments?

Absolutely! Hypnosis complements other therapies and treatments by enhancing your ability to relax, focus, and process emotions. It can work alongside medical or psychological care to support your overall well-being.

14. Will the effects of hypnosis last?

The positive effects of hypnosis can last a lifetime, and many clients report lasting changes after completing their sessions. I work with my clients, teaching them powerful and effective hypnotic techniques that they can use whenever new challenges arise.

Misconceptions

15. Is clinical hypnosis the same as stage hypnosis?

No. Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic tool focused on your well-being, while stage hypnosis is for entertainment purposes.

16. Can a hypnotist make me do something I don’t want to do?

No, you cannot be made to do anything against your will. You are always in control and aware during hypnosis.

17. What if I don’t “wake up” from hypnosis?

Put simply, that's not possible. In the same way you can't get "stuck" in sleep.
Hypnosis is a natural state, and you can return to full awareness whenever you choose, even if the session ends.

18. I feel like I’m too 'strong willed and intelligent' to be hypnotized. What would you say to that?

Hypnosis isn't about exploiting a weakness. It's about enhancing your own skills and abilities to eliminate the barriers to your success. Your "strong will" shows that you're driven and able to overcome odds, and your intelligence will help you to utilize hypnosis even more effectively.

19. I've tried hypnosis in the past (or used recordings or was in a group or stage show) and it didn't work for me. How will working with you be different?

Every hypnosis experience is unique, and not all approaches work the same for everyone. My process is highly personalized, focusing on your specific needs and goals through a collaborative approach. Unlike recordings or group settings, our one-on-one sessions provide tailored guidance, ensuring a more effective and meaningful experience.
