You know that moment just before your eyes fully open when the worry is already there? It's that hum in your chest. That pressure. The already racing mind and that sense that something’s coming and you need to be ready.

If your mornings have been starting like that, I want to offer you something new.

That anxious sensation you wake up with—that surge of readiness, the inner bracing—is something your mind learned to create on purpose. It's a misguided effort from your mind at being ready for the next thing. and it happens when we're stressed, feeling anxious, or overwhelmed. And the thing is, it's not really helping.

What is Morning Anxiety?
Morning anxiety is a heightened sense of worry or fear experienced upon waking. It's characterized by physical symptoms like a racing heart or muscle tension, and emotional symptoms like dread or restlessness. It's a common experience, particularly for people who struggle with underlying anxiety or stress. Morning anxiety can significantly impact our ability to start the day.

Your subconscious is brilliant at keeping you prepared. And when life kept throwing things your way it did exactly what it was supposed to do: keep you safe, keep you sharp, keep you on. There’s nothing broken in that. The mind is doing what it's supposed to do. It’s just doing it without the best information.

What You Can Do Right Now

Pattern Interrupts
As you notice that your body is tense or your mind is racing, take a nice deep belly breath. That abdominal breath will activate your relaxation response and give you just enough of a moment of calm to change direction.

Physical Reorientation
Wiggle your fingers, stretch your back, put your feet hard on the floor.
Your body responds to touch and movement. Small shifts send the message to the brain: I’m here now. I'm grounded. I'm okay.

Label the Thought
All too often we can find ourselves getting wrapped up in our thoughts. You can label them instead of following them, putting some space between you and your thoughts.
Name what you’re feeling. And if you can't name it precisely, give it a name. It doesn't need to be accurate or precise. Once you label the feeling it becomes a thing instead of a force.

How Hypnosis Helps
Our subconscious minds will continue to run the same patterns over and over, until we replace that pattern with something better. Hypnosis gives us a way to speak directly to the subconscious, to give it new and better information to work with you rather than against you.

With hypnosis, we create a new rhythm for your mornings that starts with presence, steadiness, and ease. We can collapse that anxiety pattern and change the way you respond to what used to be stressful triggers, so the start of your day can feel open, steady, and calm.🌀
