The Virtual Gastric Band is a structured hypnosis protocol designed to change how you think about food, enabling you to adopt a new set of eating habits by making some small realistic changes, that you can realistically live with.
It's not a diet. You'll eat what you want, and find yourself more satisfied on much smaller amounts of food. Portion control, emotional aspects of eating, craving control, food choices, motivation and exercise are all addressed from the very first session, giving you a strong foundation that supports your success.
The aim of this is not to make a client ‘think’ that they have a gastric band fitted, instead, it's a tool to reset the natural signals of hunger and satisfaction, so you stop eating when you feel comfortable instead of when you feel full or when the plate is empty. Clients report that they are eating less from the very first session, and many report only eating a third of what they were eating before.
The interesting thing is, the success of this program is not reliant on the ‘Gastric band’ element being accepted by you. Hypnosis allows your subconscious mind to buy into the concept of it, using your imagination, metaphors for change, and realistic goal setting.
The average weight loss clients report is around 7 pounds in the first week, and 1 to 2 pounds per week after that.

We Know Diets Don't Work Like We Want Them To
Most people who follow a traditional diet will lose weight while they're on it. The problem is what happens when you stop, and you will, because most diets aren't sustainable in the long term. The weight comes back, and usually brings more with it. It's estimated that 95% of people who lose weight on a diet put it all back on again.
To complicate things more, most diets involve some form of deprivation or denial, and some require counting calories or points, which programs your mind to think about food constantly. Your subconscious mind is like the operating system of a computer. Every new client starts with a free consultation call.
The call is yours. You'll have time to describe what you've been experiencing, how long it's been happening, and how you want things to be different. There's no rush and no agenda other than getting to know each other a bit and discovering the best path forward.
We'll talk about what you know works for you, what your problem areas have been, and how hypnosis can help. I'll make sure you have a clear picture of what working together looks like, what we'll focus on, how the sessions work, and what you can expect along the way. Most people come to that first call with questions. That's exactly what it's for. And when you're ready, we can schedule your sessions right in the call.
All sessions are held remotely, we can work together from wherever you are in the US. Hypnosis is a conversation, and it is equally as effective online as it is in person. And there's another benefit to working together remotely: when you're creating these positive changes in your own environment, everything around you becomes a reinforcement for the success you're experiencing.
Every session is built around you and where you're at in the process of creating change. This isn't a scripted protocol. Early sessions focus on simplifying your relationship with food and reconnecting you to your body's natural signals. Later sessions go deeper into the emotional patterns, the attachments, and the habits and behaviors you're ready to let go of. Most clients begin noticing changes with the first session.

Before founding Green Mountain Hypnosis in 2016 I spent more than a decade caring for people as a registered nurse. My clinical background gives me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection that shapes everything about how I work with clients today.
My nursing background influences my work in hypnosis. I understand the physiology, take the clinical research seriously, and bring the same precision to my hypnosis practice that I brought to patient care. I am a trained Virtual Gastric Band practitioner, certified directly in Sheila Granger's protocol.
Weight is personal for me in a way that goes beyond the clinical. I grew up in an era when diet culture was everywhere and unavoidable, when the message was always that your body was the problem and the next solution was just around the corner. What I've learned from my own experience and from working with clients is that the approach makes all the difference.
I can help you get to know and trust your body again, feel confident in your ability to make healthy decisions for yourself, and build patterns of success instead of cycling through failures.
